| I tried to inform and ask that servers are out few times. Wondered that no-one answered.. But it is illegal to bring up "bad news" in their forums. Or even ask "hard" questions. If you ask something, remember to say something good first. I'm still with them but how long? Time will tell. |

| Once I paid for the second year of my personal business site, I suffered downtimes of OVER 40%! Support ticket was closed because the site was up at the time they looked at it, sent another ticket when I lost sales, closed that ticket since the issue was “duplicate”, phone support told me to submit more support tickets which were getting closed and THEN, when I went to the SUPPORT forums to ask where to find info to talk to a REAL person since no one was helping me, my post was deleted, as were the other posts asking about problems with my particular server (which it asks of you). I was banned from the forums for “complaining” and told to open yet another ticket which is STILL unanswered! While I just went to my site again and it was down for over another hour. They have an unsatisfactory record with the BBB and have been found when there is a bad post about them, to be posting a stellar review in response! (You’d think a hosting company would learn to cover their IP tracks.) So not only is there no way to get in touch with anyone, but they also come in, almost always as their own customer to defend. |

| Having moved onto the servers, wow! I'm flat out amazed!

Let's do some comparing. On Yahoo! I was paying $19.95 for cgi scripting, what a rip. Half of the scripts I tried to run wouldn't work because only a few Perl modules were available. Geezz... Yahoo! gives you Sitebuilder with their package. Another rip. Try working on more than 2 or 3 pages at a time with this utility, and your computer will give you a big thud as it crashes and freezes. There are so many bugs with this program that it's just sickening. I ended up having to buy a 3rd party website builder. Let's see what else.... Oh yes, TECH SUPPORT! or lack there of! Put in a ticket, and you're guranteed to wait more than 48 hrs for a reply. They do have a customer support number, however I've never had the patience to talk to anyone. I waited on hold for 2 hours one time before finally giving up.
First Impressions of VodaHost: "Too Good To Be True"I've tried a couple of other Website servers out there that charge under $10/month. With these servers you get minimal features, and in most cases need a college degree in computers to figure out what directory you're supposed to put your website material. No Thanks! With VodaHost I was completely surprised at what I got for my money! The array of scripts offered with cPanel is amazing, not to mention cPanel's ease of use. And if that weren't enough, they throw in the free website builder BVoda. Wow, is this thing good or what?! I completely re-done my entire 20 page website in about an hour! Completely unheard-of with SiteBuilder. Now we get to the real test: Speed! I was blown away when I transferred my forum files via FTP to Voda Servers! It took about an hour to download the files off of my Yahoo! servers, and it took less than 15 minutes to upload to Voda!! WOW! Then when I finally went checking my site out for broken links and whatnot, I was amazed at how fast everything was popping up! Of course the real question was the photo gallery, but everything just pops up so fast! It's almost like viewing a computer on my LAN!

| I have been with Vodahost for a while. I am not here to complain, I am here to influence and warn. I joined vodahost a long time ago, thinking that the whole idea of a large company hosting my website was a good idea. I did little research on them, and went ahead, spending a fair amount of money for a fair amount of promises. Anyway, that didn't work out. Support Email: Takes anything between one day and infinite requests with no replies, or cheeky remarks, to get a reply, depending upon the question. Once your are a customer, it takes 3-10 days to get a reply if at all. There are only two support staff memebers, both of which are particularly rude. Take note of this>>>>>>> 30 day money back: NO <<<<<<< Whether the host is experiencing outages, can't provide the service any longer, or removed your account, according to (http://www.vodahost.com/tos.htm ) "VodaHost.com and AffiliSys LLC does not have a refund policy and does not offer a money back guarantee of any type." All I hope is that by pointing this out, they won't do the following: "VodaHost reserves the right to refuse service at its discretion. Also VodaHost reserve the right to cancel, suspend or terminate any account at anytime as it sees fit. VodaHost will treat all files and data of terminated accounts exactly as outlined in the above clause 5.1." - On another note, you are welcome to have the huge amount of storage offered, and also to use that huge amount of bandwidth, but look at this: " Users may not initiate the following: a) Use 5% or more of system resources (This included CPU and memory) There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc. If this clause is breached it will trigger an auto kill failsafe mechanism on the server which will auto suspend the violating account." - Funny that, since on the signup page it sas: "MySQL Databases = Unlimited," yet there is no mention of how many resources they can use. I recommend them for a home user, running a 1-20 page site using HTML only for something similar to a page about their family. The loading speeds are too slow and hardware resources are too stressed through overhosting for any sort of business website. - Now I pray that I don't lose my hosting "for whatever reason" or alternatively "as it(it being vodahost) sees fit." - Again they are a good cheap host for some things, take their hosting offers if you wish, I do not know your personal requirements. |
